The old cell is safely removed by releasing its stretch-release adhesive strips, and a new high-capacity cell is installed with fresh adhesive. Swollen batteries are handled with fire-safe procedures and responsibly recycled.

- mAh (milliamp-hours)
- A measure of how much energy a battery can hold. Higher mAh generally means longer time between charges.
- Cycle count
- How many full charge cycles the battery has gone through. Most phone batteries are rated for about 500 to 1,000 cycles.
- Maximum capacity
- How much charge your battery holds compared to when it was new. Below 80% is the usual point to replace it.
